One more day to go...........are ya' ready??

Hello Ladies........Naomi here again....
Are ya ready to crop? One more day to go.
Make sure to check out Designs n Such and Eclectic Paperie for great deals. And they are great gals too :)
Be sure to bring along your cameras. Great inspiration ideas may await you. Plus, it's fun to take photos of a crop especially after you have been busy scrapping for hours on end on a caffeine and sugar high. And well, our crops are just fun to take pictures at too.
Don't forget to bring your favorite layout for the contest or have an idea to create one at the crop. We always have great prizes to hand out.
I am loading up the car tonight. Wow do I have a lot to scrap! And projects galore to make.
Looking forward to scrapping with you and meeting those of you I don't already know.
Any questions, post a reply here or send us an email. I will be checking late tonight.
For directions to the Red Bee, go to the web site www.theredbee.com

Final email just sent to November crop attendees!

Hello, croppers!

We just sent our last group email to our November croppers, If you did not get an email, please send an email to jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com, so we can get those details to you right away!

One more item that was omitted from the email just sent: We will have a swap table set up at the crop because "what is one cropper's trash is another's treasure!" Anything left at the end of the crop will be given to local scrapbook stores for their scrapbook supply drive for local fire victims. They are asking for new and gently used scrapbook supplies so victims can get some much-needed scrap therapy. We usually donate it to the Children's Hospital of Orange County for the kids' memory projects and will return to our "favorite" charity for the April crop leftover swaps.

If you have any questions, please leave a post here or shoot any of us an email!

See you Saturday!

Jessica

Wow! Plans are a-brewin'!

I could not believe it has been more than 6 weeks since I blogged here! Bad blogger, bad! But, boy have I been busy! Naomi and Nan have been too! Both Nan and I have new kindergarteners, Naomi and I have been tackling fall sports schedules and Nan has a new junior high student and a Daisy Girl Scout! Not to mention, I have been launching my new business. Whew! We're sure you're right there with us with the busy schedules! So, it's time to take a break! Nov. 10 is our Crops2Remember Day Crop - our first one EVER!

This crop promises to be fun and productive. We'll feed you lunch, dinner and all the snacks you can handle, so you don't have to break away from the page count for too long. Plus, we've got two make and takes - or take and makes if you would prefer not to be interrupted!

One of the make and takes is sponsored by Designs and Such, an online web site and kit club. If you were at the April C2R weekend crop, you met Cyndi and Ashli. They are planning to do a popular new style of mini book - a stadium word book. You may have seen them, where each page is longer than the next and they spell out an entire word? And C2R day croppers get it FREE!!! See more about Designs and Such at www.designsandsuch.com!

Not only that, but my new business, Kits2Remember has sturdy, clear acrylic that can be punched with the Bind-it-All and Crop-a-dile, and can be cut with Tim Holtz's Tonic Scissors. We'll be using 4 x 4 sheets of acrylic to create a cute, all-acrylic 4 x 4 holiday mini book - a perfect stocking stuffer for someone special! And it is FREE to C2R croppers, too!

Keep this blog bookmarked, as we will post new details here ... like when we email out discounts and special offers from our sponsors to our croppers before the event! You don't want to miss out on discounts OR free delivery to the crop, do you!? Of course not! So sign up to crop today and be sure to check back here often!

Crop detail email just sent

Hi, Ladies!

An email was just sent with crop details for the weekend ... just in case you didn;t get it, here is what it said (minus the layout contest attachment).

WOW! Is the crop just 3 days away!?! We are SO looking forward to cropping with all of you – and surprising you with all sorts of fun, scrappy treats! Here are just a few things to think about as you pack up your scrap stuff this week:

• Bring an extra bag (maybe even a suitcase) to take all your goodies home in. (No, we are not kidding.)
• While we have a number of activities, guest instructor programs and surprises planned, all activities are optional. While we encourage it vehemently, you don’t even have to crop.
• Pack up those unwanted scrap items (maybe in that extra suitcase you’re bringing!) to put on the “swap” table. Take what you want, first come, first served. Anything left will be given to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for the memory projects the patients do.
• Attached are details about the Crops2Remember “Nothing Compares 2 U” layout contest. The winner of this event will be crowned Queen of the Crop – and be treated like one as she’s showered with prizes!
• We have special guests throughout the weekend, some of them with items for sale. Plus, we have store sponsors who would love for you to drop by, so be sure to bring a little extra pocket money!
• Plan to dress comfortably and in layers. The room temperature will be kept around 72 degrees, but every one has a different tolerance for heat and cold.
• Think you’ll need extra light? Planning to bring your Cricut? You might want to bring a power strip or an extension cord.
• Have you left a comment (or five) on the Crops2Remember blog? For every comment you make, your name will be entered in a special raffle for an item valued at $30. You can be entered and unlimited amount of times, so write away!
• Can’t stand the thought of being away from email too long? No worries! The hotel has complete access to wireless Internet – and it’s FREE!
• Some emails are getting lost in spam filters, so make sure you check the blog often in the next few days for updates and announcements!

And, as always, if you have any questions, feel free to email us! For registration and payment questions, contact Naomi (naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com). For activity and general questions, contact Jessica (jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com).

See you on Friday!!!!

Jessica, Nan and Naomi

Friday, July 27, 2007

Don't forget to post here!

For every post you, well, post, you'll get your name entered into the Blog raffle for a great prize! So, be sure to post at least once so you have a chance at the prize! But, of course, we encourage more than one post ...

How many days?

Counting down. It's so close!! We got together tonight to go through the boxes (yep, boxes and boxes) of goodies we have for you all! Gotta love it! Working on a super cool summer shirt too.
Keep checking your in boxes for emails about the weekend. I will send out some general directions later on, but you can also check yahoo or map quest for more specific directions from your home.
Can't wait to meet all you new gals and see some old friends.
Time to start packing and getting your pictures ready. There are some local scrapbook stores close to the hotel in case you need to get out to shop or forget anything.
Enjoy the rest of your week and stay cool.

August Crop Details!

An email was just sent out to crop attendees ... if you are registered for the crop, but have not recieved the email, please email Jessica at jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com. Some of the details are posted below. Looking forward to seeing all you croppers August 3!

Crop details:

We have less than 3 weeks until the August C2R Weekend Crop! And have we got some fun stuff planned for you! You should see the list of goodies we’ve got to give you … all we can say is WOW!

Although Naomi is on vacation until July 21st, Nan and I are still around to answer any questions you may have. We can be reached by email (Jessica, jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com; Nan, nancrops2remember@yahoo.com; Naomi, naomicrops2remember.com), or if it’s August 2, and need to get a hold of us right away, call Jessica ay 949-412-6184.

Be sure to check the blog … we will post updates and chat there. For every message you post, between the last crop and we will enter your name into the “Blog Post” prize drawing! So get posting!

Also, at the bottom of this email are some questions so we can be better prepared for you at the crop. Please take the time to email us back with your responses … Thanks!

Some announcements for you:

Queen of the Crop: The Queen of the Crop is chosen by a layout contest, judged by all the croppers present. The theme of this crop’s layout is “Nothing Compares 2 U.” This is merely the theme and it does not have to be your title. It can be a one or two page layout, using anything you want. It will be due Friday evening, so you can either do it ahead of time and bring it with you, or do it during the crop Friday. If you have any questions, either email Jessica or post to the blog.

Special Events: We have a few special guests who will be visiting, bringing goodies, make and takes and more with them! Friday Night is PJ night … bring you favorite cropping PJs and plan to wear them after supper! We will also have a Midnight Madness shopping trip to a local sponsor store. Stay tuned for details! And Saturday Night is “The Scrappies.” This is an “awards show” and dessert night where we will announce the winners of our different contests, including Queen of the Crop! Be sure to bring your camera! Questions? Email Jessica or post to the blog!

Music: If you have an iPod with your favorite music, please bring it. We will have an iPod dock and speakers and rotate the tunes throughout the weekend.

Massage Therapy: Don’t forget that Melissa will be available Friday afternoon and Saturday for massage therapy. She is offering them for $1 per minute, 10 minute minimum. She also has a special offer of 90 minutes for $85. We will verify the hours that Melissa is available and then send out an email for time slot sign ups. I had two massage session from her last time and she was fabulous!

Swap Table: We will have a table set up for you to put any unwanted items you’d like to trade with other croppers or donate to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Add your items to the table, take what you want that is on there … anything that is left will be given to the kids at CHOC for their memory project programs. If you have questions, email Nan or post to the blog!

Lunches: While breakfast, snacks and dinner will be provided at the crop, lunch will not be provided. However, there are many fast food places and restaurants in the area. Also, each room has a refrigerator, microwave and stove top if you’d like to cook in your room.

Ribbon exchange: Love ribbon? Got lots of it? Want more? Bring 10 lengths of decorative ribbon, cut in 1-yard lengths, to swap with other croppers. No “Spool O Ribbon” or other, similar simple or plain ribbons. A number of us swapped in April and had a great time! Of you have questions, email Jessica, or post to the blog!

Some Questions for you

Here are a few questions we would love to have you answer. Please respond by Tuesday, July 17. Thank you in advance!

1) What are your favorite drinks and snacks (healthy or otherwise!)?
2) Are you planning to get a massage? If so, which day would you prefer, Friday afternoon or Saturday, or both (you’d like two massages, one on each day).
3) What are you hoping to get out of this crop?

We are SO looking forward to cropping with you all and are counting down the days until Aug.3! Take care and we’ll chat soon!

Jessica, Nan and Naomi

Anyone else at the MAMBI sale?

I went to the Me and My Big Ideas sale this past weekend and ran into a couple of members of the C2R Inaugural 2Dozen: Krystal and Christal! I caught Christal on film heading out of the MAMBI warehouse to check out and Krystal was kind enough to take my picture to remember the moment by! Alright, ladies, 'fess up! Who else was there?

Tuesday, May 8, 2007

OK, I am still charged up from our GREAT weekend!

What is there to say about our first C2R Weekend? How about....let's do it again! First off, I want to thank my partners in grime....Naomi, Jessica and our fourth founder Michele....for bringing me along for the ride. I had never been to a weekend crop, and now I am wondering why not! I had such a great time, and I couldn't have been with and met such a great group of ladies - and talented scrapbookers!

I can't wait to see all your photos. Here are some of mine.

Many of you enjoyed Cheryl from Fiskars. She is a sweetheart, and we will be seeing her again soon.

Now, as far as me and my pink curlers go...just know that a few ladies stopped me in Timeless Treasures last weekend and said they recognized me from our late night shopping trip. Talk about being recognized for a wrong (but very funny) reason!

Stephanie from MAMBI couldn't have been more warm and friendly, and believe me, we were thrilled to have a VIP at our first event. Many of you went to their warehouse sale and stocked up on MAMBI goodies. Just when we thought we couldn't possibly buy any more scrap stuff....

And, Kimm....you got a work out with your big bag of freebies from the crop. Did we really have that many giveaways? It's all a blur!
I guess we did....look at that raffle table on the morning of Day 1 and that nice neat table before croppers arrived. It was amazing how much stuff 24 of us could have...and that's just what we brought with us!

From our challenge winners to the ribbon "toss" - I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. And I thank all of you for making it so.

Here's to you and to our next C2R. Love, Nan

Monday, April 30, 2007

Anyone else exhausted today?

Yes, I am tired, but I am so HAPPY! Thank you to all the C2R Inaugural Crop attendees - you guys were awesome and truly made the event a success! We loved having each of you and hope to see you at the next crop in August!

A big pat on the back to our Queen of the Crop, Julia, as well as our Layout Challenge winners: Michele, Elena, and, yes, the repeat offender, Julia! Congrats to you guys!

A big THANKS to our massage therapist, Melissa, who kept us all feeling stress-free and relaxed throughout the weekend. I had more than an hour with her, myself, and am feeling quite nice.

Stephanie from MAMBI, Fiskateer Cheryl and Beth from Heritage Makers: Thank you SO much for taking time out of your weekend to share a bit of your business with us. It was an absolute pleasure!

I'd like to send a "shout" out to our sponsor stores: Angels Scrapbook Garden, Red Bee, Scrapbook Corner and Timeless Treasures ... we had a great time playing with the raffle prizes and shopping in your aisles! And to FreckleFriends.com, who was kind enough not only to give us a great discount before the crop, but gave us stellar customer service by delivering our goodies we bought to the crop each day!

And true appreciation to our sponsors, too numerous to name here, but we will have them listed soon, for your generosity for all the wonderful items that made our crop that much more exciting for everyone!

Naomi and Nan - BIG hugs to you both! Our baby turned out to be wonderful ... I can't wait to watch it "grow" with you! (But, really, we need to get some more cropping done ... ha!) On to August!

Now, off to get some of that much-needed sleep!

WOW!!

What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of you! I enjoyed getting to know all of you and scrap with you too. You all helped to make this such an awesome weekend! I hope to see you all again at future C2R weekends.
Thank you too for your comments on the surveys. We read them all last night and appreciate each and every comment.
I was so tired last night, but got the car unloaded and most things put away. Took a shower tucked the kids into bed and then crashed myself at 8:30. Didn't wake up till almost 6 this morning. Feel rested now:) But I don't have much of a voice left. Well, no one to talk to today but the dog and birds.
Well, better spin my chair around and get back to work, lots of emails to answer and mail to go through. Luckily not a lot of phone messages to return.
Looking forward to seeing you in August. Feel free to email us anytime and check back on the website and blog for future dates.
Have a wonderful week and keep on Scrapping!!

Am I really PACKED?!?

I think so ... clothes, check ... photos, check .... 120 pounds of scrap stuff, check ... laptop. check (well, after I post this!) .... ribbon for the swap, check .... Ottlite ... oooo ... forgot that! Better go get it!

BTW, Naomi's right - the crop room is all set up and will be ready for everyone to roll in at 9 a.m.! And you should see the piles of FOOD! And that's just for snacks!Drive safely, you guys! Can't wait to see/meet/eat with you!

Thursday, April 26, 2007

We are ready for you !!

Room is set up and ready to go.
Can't wait to see you all in the morning!!

Counting Hours

Ok, so I have been sitting at my desk most of the morning trying to work. I took the dog for a run to clear my head, packed my clothes for the weekend and went over all the paperwork. But I still can't concentrate on work. I chatted with my mom about dinner Friday night. Still can't concentrate. I have a conference call at 1:00 so have to focus on that. Then it will be time to get the kids from school, get through homework, pack up the car and hopefully get to bed at a somewhat decent hour. In about 20 hours from now, will be getting ready to crop with a huge vente Starbucks chai latte! Can't wait!!
See you all soon :)

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Uh, what the heck am I typing on here for?!!?

I have SO much to do in the next two nights ... I can't believe I am even wasting precious moments writing here - LOL! But I stopped by to see how EXCITED everyone was! Anyway, I am trying to find the time to pack up the crop stuff, pack up my stuff (like my Ottlite and my laptop ... oh, yeah, some scrap stuff too, oh, and do I need clothes?), get some photos printed, design some layouts and get the supplies together ... I have to finish both my boys' annual albums! And cut up my ribbon for the ribbon swap ... OK, gotta go now before I stress myself out getting ready for the weekend of FUN! See you all FRIDAY!!!!!!!

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

Almost here.......Are you ready??

Just about. But will be.
How many layouts will you get done this weekend? I am shooting for the moon! I have gotten behind and need to caught up again.
Remember to bring a lot of adhesive, more than you think you may need. Bring all your photos and projects so you won't run out of things to do. If you have not been to a weekend crop before, it is amazing the things you can get done. Just wait till that adrenalin rush sets in about 10 pm! Starbucks is close by too if you need an extra push to get you till the wee hours of the morning.
I will send out an email with my cell phone number and the hotel number. Remember to bring it along with the hotel address and directions.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, just email us or post a comment on the blog.
For those of you driving distances, please drive safely.
See you in just a few days :)

Monday, April 23, 2007

Will you be our "Queen of the Crop?"

Hello, ladies!

How many of you worked on your "What 2 Means to You" layout this weekend? If you haven't gotten started yet, you still have plenty of time! You can even work on it at the crop Friday!

But, be advised: If you're thinking about NOT entering, you might want to think about it a little longer. The layout with the most votes earns its designer the designation of "Queen of the Crop," a soon-to-be Crops2Remember crop tradition. The title is up for grabs and so are the *fantastic* prizes! (Not to mention the good-natured bragging rights until the next crop in August!) You won't want to miss out on the FUN!

Sorry, day croppers, but only overnight weekend croppers may participate and vote. Weekend croppers should have received the contest guidelines in an email last week. If you didn't, email Jessica at jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com.

We can't wait to see what you all come up with! We'll be creating our own layouts about what 2 means to us, but just to display for fun.

So, what DOES 2 mean to you?

One week to go!!!

I can't believe it! Only one more week to go! Whoo -hoo. Are you all ready to go? Make sure you have plenty of pictures, paper, embellies and projects to work on. But if you run out of things to do, I have plenty you could work on:) Bring your ideas for the layout contest too: "What does 2 mean to you".

An email was sent out the other day with information and basic directions to the hotel. It is also posted on the blog.

If you have any questions at all, leave a comment here or send and email to me at naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com or crops2remember@yahoo.com . We check the blog and emails daily.

This weekend is a busy one for me as my dad is in town for a visit and to see some baseball games (if the rain stops). But next week I will be back on track getting everything else ready for the crop.

Remember, you can arrive as early as 9 am. The room will be set up and you can get started scrapping right away. Breakfast will also be out in the great room until 9:30. So stop by a little earlier for breakfast if you want.

See you all next Friday!!

Staybridge Suites

Here is some basic information on the hotel. We are staying at the Staybridge Suites Hotel. The address is 2 Orchard, Lake Forest, CA. The website is http://www.staybridge.com/ It will not take you directly to our hotel, but the hotel home page. From there you can enter the state and city (Lake Forest) and it will give you a list of hotels. Ours is the first on the list, Irvine East/Lake Forest.
Basic directions are: from the 5 or 405 South, and the 5 North, exit Bake Parkway and head North, towards the mountains. Continue on Bake for several miles. Turn left on Rancho Parkway South and the first left on Orchard. You can see the hotel on the left from Bake Parkway. There is a large nursery across the street. The hotel is in a business area. If you go under the toll road, you have gone to far.
From RSM, Mission Viejo take Portola to Bake and go left on Bake. Go under the toll road and turn right on Rancho Parkway South then left on Orchard.
If you are coming over the toll road from the Corona Riverside area, take the 241 towards Rancho Santa Margarita, exit at Alton, go left, then right on Portola, right on Bake, right on Rancho Parkway South and then left on Orchard.
But probably best to do a Map Quest or Yahoo map yourself. I will send this all out in an email too.
There is plenty of parking in the front of the hotel. When you enter the lobby go to the left and follow the hall till you get to the crop room. Won't be able to miss it!! We will be in our Crops2Remember shirts. There are a few luggage carts at the front entrance.
Can't wait for the weekend!!

Anyone else love ribbon? Let's swap!

Anyone who has cropped with me in the past year or so has seen my barrels of ribbon ... I guess enough is never enough! And I love to swap it! This is not a C2R planned activity, just something I enjoy doing at crops. Comment here if you would like to participate! It's a great way to add some new designs to your stash!

The basic guidelines are:

1) Please use decorative ribbon, something you would love to have. No Spool'O Ribbon or Offray. Try to bring something unique that no one else will have.

2) Cut the ribbon into 1-yard lengths. I recommend having at least 10 yards - you can always swap with someone twice!

3) The ribbon you bring can either be all the same or all different - or somewhere in between!

If we happen to have more than 10 people say they are interested, then you may want to bring more than 10 yards if you want a piece from everyone. It's entirely up to you! Email me if you have any questions or suggestions: jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com.

Countdown to Crop: 10 days!

Packing up? Here are some things to think about ...

WOW! Is the crop just 10 days away!?! We are SO looking forward to cropping with all of you – and surprising you with all sorts of fun, scrappy treats! Here are just a few things to think about as you pack up your scrap stuff this week:

- Bring an extra bag (maybe even a suitcase) to take all your goodies home in. (No, we are not kidding.)
- While we have a number of activities, guest instructor programs and surprises planned, all activities are optional. While we encourage it vehemently, you don’t even have to crop.
- Pack up those unwanted scrap items (maybe in that extra suitcase you’re bringing!) to put on the “swap” table. Take what you want, first come, first served. Anything left will be given to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for the memory projects the patients do.
- Attached to the last email we sent out are details about the Crops2Remember “What Does 2 Mean to You?” layout contest. The winner of this event will be crowned Queen of the Crop – and be treated like one as she’s showered with prizes! Details are also on our web site. Go to www.crops2remember and click on the Calendar page. On the left hand side is the Latest News - click on the link for April 17!
- We have four special guests throughout the weekend, some of them with items for sale. Plus, we have store sponsors who would love for you to drop by, so be sure to bring a little extra pocket money!
- Plan to dress comfortably and in layers. The room temperature will be kept around 72 degrees, but every one has a different tolerance for heat and cold.
- Think you’ll need extra light? Planning to bring your Cricut? You might want to bring a power strip or an extension cord.
- Have you left a comment (or five) on this blog? For every comment you make, your name will be entered in a special raffle for an item valued at $30. You can be entered and unlimited amount of times, so write away!
- Can’t stand the thought of being away from email too long? No worries! The hotel has complete access to wireless Internet – and it’s FREE!
- Some emails are getting lost in spam filters, so make sure you check the blog often in the next 10 days for updates and announcements!

And, as always, if you have any questions, feel free to email us! For registration and payment questions, contact Naomi (naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com). For activity and general questions, contact Jessica (jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com).

See you on the 27th!!!!

April Weekend Update

This was sent out in an email and I also wanted to get it on the blog.

Just a few more weeks until the crop! I know I sure am excited! Here's some info to get you ready and excited for our fun weekend!
All meals are provided. Drinks will be served with the meals and some snacks in between. You may want to bring your own snacks and drinks if you think you will want more. There are plenty of stores near by.
Some local vendors will be stopping by for presentations and displays of their wares. We also have some very fun make and takes and product demos. Participation is optional. No purchase is necessary but you may want to plan ahead just in case there is something you can't resist.
We are having a massage therapist too. She charges $1 aminute. If you are interested and would like to sign up now, please send me back an email indicating how many minutes you are interested in and if there is a time preference. We will have a sign up sheet at the crop.
Make sure to bring all your pictures, papers, embellishments and supplies. We will have some tools on hand to use. The program for the weekend you receive at registration will provide maps and info for all the area stores. We encourage our croppers to visit the local scrap stores that are sponsoring our weekend (but we do not have formal excursions planned on the weekend).
Bring your comfy scrap clothes. Make sure to bring a sweatshirt as it can get chilly in the evening. For Friday night, bring your fun pj's too for a pajama party crop!
There will be a table set up for a scrap swap. Whatever is left will be donated to CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County). They use scrapbooking supplies in the children's center to help the kids make albums. It's a great cause!
We will also be having a few page contests. The one we are announcing prior to the crop is "What does 2 mean to you." If you would like to participate, start thinking of a layout about what "2" means to you. You can even complete one before you come. We will announce the winner on Sunday afternoon!
Be sure to check the blog, www.crops2remember.blogspot.com and the website, www.crops2remember.com for updated information. We will be sending out more emails as the date gets closer.
Once again, we thank you for being part of our first ever Crop 2 Remember. We are looking forward to sharing the weekend with you.

Since we are not hearing from some of you (spam filters are working overtime), please send a reply back to this email so we know you received it. We will phone those participants that we don't hear from!

Have a great week!

Jessica, Nan and Naomi

Dinner with Stephanie from MAMBI!!!!

Guess what, ladies? We'll have a special guest dining with us Friday night: Stephanie Rahmatulla, the founding owner of Me and My Big Ideas!

Sure, you love their Rhinestones, their Threads and their papers, but how much do you really know about MAMBI? Well, after the crop, you'll be the new MAMBI experts!

MAMBI is based here in Lake Forest and Stephanie is incredibly excited that there is a weekend crop right in her own backyard! She'll be helping us to kick off the event at 5 p.m. Friday night, telling us how MAMBI got started, how they grew and where they are looking to go in the future.

Stephanie will also fill us in on the latest and greatest products that her design team has created and introduced to the scrap world. She'll stay on for dinner and chat with the group, answer questions - and maybe even bring a few goodies straight from the warehouse! Want to learn more about MAMBI? Visit www.meandmybigideas.com and visit Steph's blog at www.mambi.typepad.com.

Naomi just saying "HI"

Hi everyone. Just wanted to add a quick post and say "Hello". Thanks for all your emails. I can't wait to see everyone at the crop!
Just a few reminders..... if you have not sent me your t shirt size, please do so. And, if you have not sent your final payments, please do so and send me an email confirming.
The weather has been just beautiful here the last week. Hopefully it will be like this the weekend of the crop. The hotel has a beautiful court yard, with pool and jacuzzi!
Don't forget to pack up all your pictures and all your scrap stuff!
See you soon~

Friday, March 30, 2007

Here's some stuff to keep in mind:

1) Bring your unwanted scrap items to the crop with you. We will have a swap table - what is one woman's unwanted embellishent is the next woman's treasure! Anything left at the end of the weekend will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Orange County for the memory projects they do with the kids.
2) There will be a massage therapist available on Saturday, and possibly Sunday if there is interest. We will have her set up her table in the C2R organizers' room for quiet and privacy. Massages are $1 per minute with a 10 minute minimum. A sign up sheet will be issued in a couple of weeks, so think of a time that you would like to lay down and relax!
3) Bring your bathing suit! After that massage, you might want to take advantage of the hotel's jacuzzi. And if the weather is warm, a dip in the pool might be just the refreshment you need to get motivated to crop again!
4) If you so choose ... there might be a tiny bit of "homework" for you to do before you arrive at the crop! Details to come later, but for now, contemplate what the number 2 means to you!

FOUR weeks 'til BIG fun!

WOW! We are LESS than a month away from the big event! And, boy, are we excited! From the posted comments we’re seeing here, it looks like you guys are, too!

Here are some items to note:

1) If you have not yet sent your balance in for the remainder of the crop fee, please do so, or make arrangements with Naomi. As this is a not-for-profit venture, we will need all the money to pay for the crop “expenses” – even if they are fun “goodies!” If full payment is not received by Tuesday April 3, 2007, you will forfeit your deposit and the seat will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
2) Expect an email in your inbox some time around April 4. This will have some crop details, suggestions for stuff to bring, etc. If you have had trouble receiving any emails from Crops2Remember, be sure to put us on your “safe” list and/or check your Spam filter file frequently.
3) If you have any questions, email the following people:
a. Registration, fee payment, etc: naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com
b. Anything else: Jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com

We are looking forward to seeing you all in FOUR weeks!

Check your spam filters and junk mail folders!

If you have registered for the crop and have not yet gotten an email from Jessica, please check your spam filters and junk mail folders to make sure nothing got caught up in there from C2R. If you still have not received an email, please email Jessica at Jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com from the email address you would like your email sent to. Thanks!

We're off and running!

We've gotten some great response from our VIPs (AKA: Family and Scrap Buds) so we are excited to see what the rest of Orange County thinks! We'll be passing out red C2R fliers this weekend at Scrapbook Expo at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds, so keep an eye out for that!

You might also start seeing us around town in our *new* C2R wardrobes ... we got some very cute shirts silk screened and we're starting to wear them EVERYWHERE!

The Fab Four also met this week at Nan's house (her hubby fixed a KILLER spaghetti dinner) and we have a lot of details hammered out! We can't wait to share what's in store ...

Starting next week, we will be giving more information here on the blog, so be sure to add it to your favorites. And while you're at it, add our web site, too: www.crops2remember.com. That's got the registration information, important dates, photos (crops photos will go in that section once we have the crop, but for now it's US!) and Fun Facts. And as far as the blog goes, feel free to post comments or questions ... we check it daily.

Also, we will be sending informational emails out to everyone registered, so make sure that our crops2remember@yahoo.com emails aren't getting clogged in your spam filter.

That's it for now! Keep an eye out for Michele and Naomi at the Expo Saturday and Nan and Jessica at the Zutter Zisters/Bind-it-All booth all three days! Stop by and say hi!

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

If you've sent us an email anytime since Feb. 1, please resend or forward the message to crops2remember@yahoo.com. Please note that this is a YAHOO account. Our Hotmail account is not accepting email from certain MAJOR providers (yahoo, etc.) for some reason! We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to hearing from you!

Can we just say ... we are SO excited!

Being busy moms, wives, career women, and, um ... scrapbookers (duh!), we loved to crop for weekends at a time, but could only find quality 3-day crops at least an hour from home. With home for each of us being in south Orange County, we hated being so far away from the baseball games, birthday parties and family activities that would only last an hour or two. By being away from home, but not TOO far away, we can get away with the girls while still taking time to cheer on our favorite slugger!

Plus, having all of us being long time scrapbookers, we knew what we wanted in a quality crop - and we've set out to provide it!

For starters, we're staying at the Staybridge Suites in Lake Forest. (see picture above) This hotel is less than a year old and absolutely gorgeous! Vaulted ceilings, big windows with lots of natural light, comfy, spacious rooms and a meeting room that's got plenty of cropping space, plus a staff that's friendly and SO easy to work with! And they are delighted we're going to be cropping there!

We're providing ALL of the meals. That's right, ALL! Full buffet breakfast, catered lunches and dinners from local restaurants, plus snacks all day long. You just bring your favorite beverages!

And did we mention the free stuff? Goodies at your seat every day, raffles all day long, every day, make and takes sponsored by local stores and scrapbooking manufacturers, optional contests with FABULOUS prizes - hey, if we wouldn't be impressed by it ourselves, we won't do it! We want you to feel like a VIP because we're going to be right there cropping with you and WE want to feel like VIPs!

So, add this link to your favorites, comment as you like and we'll keep you posted as to the FUN plans we have in the works. But not ALL of them ... some of them need to be a pleasant surprise! We promise you won't be disappointed!

We're looking forward to that last weekend in April - and hope you are too!

We're Officially Cropping!

Who We Are

Crops2Remember was founded by four avid scrapbookers in Orange County, Calif. Discovering the need for fun, independent cropping events in the Orange County area, Crops2Remember hopes to serve local scrapbookers who love to "get away from it all" to crop - without going too far from home!

Watch for more information about our first event: A weekend crop in April 2007!
