Did you know?

It's almost November and that means it's almost crop time! Wowza! Yep, it's just about here.

Don't forget to shop our vendors. I did the other day and can't wait to have my goodies delivered to the crop!

My computer is finally hooked up in it's new and permanent home. (no more remodeling for me for many years!) I've got way too many pictures to get printed before the weekend.

Don't forget about the challenge. You can make it before or at the crop. Ask our past queen (2 times) the prizes are great!

Hope you are ready for a fun time. I know I sure am looking forward to a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of life.

See you soon!

Everyone Wants to be A Queen

The layout challenge is a tradition at Crops2Remember, and is an activity our repeat offenders look forward to. This is how it works.

We supply a "theme" for the layout, and you can create any layout you choose (one-or two-pager), with any photos or content. The theme does not have to be the title, but should reflect the theme in some way. The layouts are voted on by your fellow croppers and the criteria is only what the voters feel about the layouts. The winning cropper is crowned the QUEEN OF THE CROP - with tiara and prize at our awards ceremony on Saturday night. The queen then gets to brag and gloat all day Sunday (we think that is the best part!) You can create this layout in advance, or when you arrive at the crop.

We will let you know the deadline for submission once you arrive (it will be due some time on Saturday).

The theme for this C2R Layout Challenge is: FALLING 4 YOU

For those of you who like creative challenges, there will also be a timed Design Challenge that will be announced at the crop. So there is another opportunity to stretch your creative wings for that also!

See below for how to order your own tiara from Diva Craft Lounge!

Everyone Wants to be a Queen!

Our Queen of the Crop earns the admiration and envy of all of us at Crops2Remember.

Her wardrobe is supplied by - herself.
Her transportation is supplied by - herself.
There are no endorsements or modeling contracts.
There is no first runner up to fill her shoes should she fail to live up to her Queenly responsibilities (plus we don't make her do anything!!)
There is no trip to Hawaii or a fur coat.

BUT, she gets an awesome tiara supplied by Diva Danielle Forsgren of Diva Craft Lounge.
Now, you too can be bejeweled like our Queen with your own tiara.
Order your own tiara (or other Diva-licious items) today for delivery to the crop. Shop here for Diva-tacular stuff, and here for tiaras. Use coupon code 412052004 for $5 off any purchase of $25 or more. And, put C2R in the comments section for free delivery to the crop. C2R is covering any shipping charges. Order by November 1.

Did you know that Diva Craft Lounge is the world's most listened to Internet craft show? Diva Danielle and Rayme Royale have listeners in 87 countries and have done over 500 interviews since 2004! You can hear it every Wednesday 12-1PM PST. All shows are archived and podcast for listening on demand.

Oh, and the new book - Designing with the Divas - will be out December 2. Ask for it everywhere!!! (Did we mention that both Nan and Jessica have projects in the book? We didn't? Well, we do!)

Some things to bring for the weekend

Some of you have been asking about some things to bring for the weekend. I'll try to answer it all here.

Yes, you can bring printers, laptops, cricut, lights, etc.... It is recommended to bring your own extension cords. The room is well lit. We do open the curtains on the windows. But if you like more light, feel free to bring a table light.

As for your scrap stuff. I say bring it all. You can always keep what you don't need in your room or in your car. There will be room under the tables too. You can leave your scrap stuff in the crop room the entire weekend. If no one is there, the room is locked. Nan and I have the keys for the room. If you want to pull an all nighter, go ahead! We do stay up pretty late too. It's your weekend to scrap! So we don't want to limit your time in the crop room.

It is recommended to bring a sweatshirt for the crop room. There is AC and we try to keep it cooler rather than too warm. Check out the post for Cafe Press for some great C2R logo wear. I have the hoodie sweatshirt and love it!

Bring your pj's for the pj party. Bring comfy scrap clothes.

Don't forget to check out our friends who are offering deals just for us. Your order will be delivered to the crop. There are also craft and scrap stores fairly close by. Plus we will be visiting 2 of the local scrap stores for shopping if you want to do some more shopping. I do recommend going!

See you all in a few weeks :)

Need information for crop

Hello Ladies

I think I am finally on the mend. I got sick last Friday and it just kept getting worse. Finally on Wednesday I am starting to feel better. But prior to that, about 2 weeks ago, I was sick. Ugh. It is just non stop around here. I really do need this weekend!

I have been updating the email list for November. Thank you to those of you who have already replied. I have added some more emails to the list and sent out another email again tonight. You will be getting many more emails before the crop for crop details and asking for information we may need. But if you ever have questions, just email me at naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com

So, if you have not already responded AND if you did not get the email, please email me and I will make sure your email address is correct.

Here is the information we need:

T shirt size

emergency contact name and phone number

favorite snack and non-alcoholic drink

Also, please have payments in by Oct. 24. If you have a question about your balance, just send me an email.

Think that's it for now. I need some sleep!

See you all in November.

So bummed...

Hi, ladies:

I am so bummed I won't be able to attend November's C2R crop! And I am so jealous of all the pages you will get done (except for maybe Judy ...)! Thanks to the U.S. Marine Corps I am now living in Pensacola, FL, AKA "Florabama." No joke, this is really what the region is called... named after a a longtime bar here... hilarious! Anyway, I will, of course, extend a pre-crop shopping discount on the Kits2Remember web site. Nan and Naomi will email out all the details as the crop gets closer and then I will ship all the goodies to them so they can hand it out to you! Aside from chipboard and acrylic (plus project kits, of course), K2R also has metal sheets now, too... be sure to check them out.
As for me, we are settling in to Florabama quite well. I love my house and even have a scrap studio office. I have been spending a lot of time on California, lately though, simply because of prior scrappy commitments I made for the remainder of the year. One of them was being selected to teach at the premier scrap event, Creative Escape, with the likes of Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz. It was an amazing experience. If you care to read more about it, please visit my blog. Longtime C2R sponsor store The Red Bee, in Tustin, sponsored me when I entered the Talent Treasure Hunt contest. Here is a picture of me with The Red Bee's owner, Karen (right) and one of the stores employees, Echo. They got free tickets to the event because I won. Whoo-hoo for everyone!

I will also be at three California events in October: Long Beach ScrapFest, the Sacramento Scrapbook Expo and the Ontario Scrapbook Expo. Hopefully I will see some of you then! I had hoped I could stretch my visit out to C2R, but my usually supportive DH was starting to protest my being gone over a month...

And, of course, please stay in touch. The best email to reach me at is jessica@kits2remember.com. I hope to hear from you, even if it is just to say 'hi' and tell me what you're up to. I miss my C2R friends and hope I might be able to attend a spring crop, if the timing is right. I'll be back in California quite a bit next year too! Have great time in November and, if you think about it, send a "shout out" while you're cropping! I know someone there will have her laptop!

Where did Summer go?

Hello Ladies
I hope you all had a great summer. We sure did. It went by way too fast.
August was a blurr. We were on vacation for the first 2 weeks. Came home the day our house remodel/addition was starting. The room addition is almost done and other things are going on in the house. Needless to say it's been a bit hectic.
If you have not heard from me much, it's because I have limited time for the computer other than necessities. Plus many days without access to the house.
We are adding on to our office. It's where I work, where the kids have their computer and hang out and where my husbands stuff is and my stuff too. We needed the extra room. I had to temporarily move my work laptop and work elsewhere. But now I am settling back in and doing my best to get caught up.
No, we are not done with the house. But we are getting there. Hopefully I'll be able to have Thanksgiving here. So for now we live with the dust and boxes filling the garage and furniture crammed in the center of the rooms. Hey, it's an adventure.
So, on to November. I know many of you have been making payments and I have record of all of them. Now it's time to get to the computer and get them all tallied.
The hotel is excited to have us back in November. They really do a great job to accommodate us.
What's up with the rest of C2R.... Jessica is settled in her new home and busy with Kits2Remember. Scrappy Nan is scrappy as ever teaching classes . Me, well, I can't wait for November to dig out all my scrap stuff and get busy. I've lots to do.
Start getting those summer vacation pictures printed and ready to scrap.
Can't wait to see all our returning friends and meet all our new ones too :)

Working on Registration for November

Well, as promised, working away on registration for November.

I know there are some of you out there who are still thinking about November. Please let me know. Either leave a comment here or go to the website and send me an email through the link there.

Our space is filling up, so please don't send a deposit. Send an email first. I will take registrations in the order they are received. If space is full, you will be on the waiting list. I will send you an email letting you know if you are in or on a wait list. If I don't get back to your email right away please don't worry. I will get back to you.

Thank you :)

Have a great summer!

Happy Summer

Hi everyone. Want to wish you all a very happy summer. Don't forget your camera to capture all those fun summer moments you don't want to forget. Our November crop is only months away.

As you may know, we are filling up for November. If you have sent in a deposit payment lately and have not heard back from me, please bear with me. Life has been crazy for the last month or so. Baseball season ended, then All Stars started up and ended, now practice and planning for the summer tournaments is in full swing. We've also been busy with riding lessons and preparation for a horse show. Oh my. Toss in work and every day stuff. Leaves little time for the computer. And to top it off, I've been covering for my boss while he is out for 3 weeks.

My goal is to get to all of you before this weekend. Thank you all for your patience. You are great!!!

Have a safe and Happy 4th! I will be doing my early morning run, going to our local parade, maybe hit the street fair or a movie with the kids. Just depends on how hot it is. Depending on what time our first baseball game is Saturday, will either hike up the hill to watch fire works or climb the ladder to watch them from our roof. Then it's baseball all weekend and even hundreds more photos to be taken.

Croppin' Cuties

This is a layout I did for a recent challenge on scrapbook.com. Have you scrapped any pictures from our weekend yet?

This particular challenge is to scraplift from the person who signed up before you....in this case, I chose this layout from a the gal before me in the challenge.

Challenges are a fun way to try new things and to motivate me to get layouts done.

Try something new this week!

What a great weekend!

Ladies, thank you SO much for a great C2R 1st Anniversary weekend! I had a wonderful time, got some of my own scrapping done (imagine that!) and thoroughly enjoyed the company of both old friends and new ones. In fact, my favorite part was at Saturday night's dinner: I looked around the room at everyone eating and realized that everyone was seated at different tables with people they had just met the night before, chatting comfortably over pizza. That's what I love about C2R ... the fast comaraderie!

A big Congrats to our Queen of the Crop, repeater Terrie D.! She worked and slaved over her Queen medal (each Queen must make one for the next scrapper selected to sport the crown) and after spending precious scrap time creating it at the crop, she, herself got to wear it, along with the lovely tiara (donated by the Diva Craft Lounge - thanks, Danielle!). And the "Scrappies" Golden Scissors Awards Night were a hit! At least those old deco scissors are good for something! :) More photos later! I hope you all made it home safely and get a good night's sleep ... see you all soon!

Thank you Everyone

Thank you to all our April croppers for another wonderful weekend. All our return croppers and new croppers. You are wonderful and I already miss you.
Thank you for all your kind words, encouragement, brilliant ideas, creativity and eagerness to return to the next crop and for being a great group of women to hang out with.
We sincerely thank you for all your suggestions and comments. It is your input that help to make these weekends a success and fun for everyone.
I know I had a great weekend and enjoyed meeting all our new croppers and seeing the returning croppers again.
I'm getting to bed early tonight as it is back to reality Monday morning. boo-h00 ;(
We will send out emails with more details of our November crop.
Happy scrapping and until we meet again.

Going to bed?!?!?!

I wish!!!! I am fighting allergies (anyone else suffering?) and I am trying to pack clothes (not a big priority, but I doubt anyone wants to see me cropping naked) and my SCRAP STUFF! Maybe another hour or two, or five ... I dunno ... I guess we'll see how bleary-eyed I am in the morning! See you bright and early at 9 a.m. SHARP!!!

(See my post below for stuff NOT to forget!!!)

See you in the morning

Hey everyone.
Room is set up and good to go.
I am tired and am signing off for the night.
When you get to the hotel, come on in and follow the sign to the crop room. There are luggage carts to use to bring in all your stuff.

Looking forward to a fun weekend.

Good night everybody!

Are you ready for some scrappin???

Me? Yes, that's for sure.
Are you all packed, car loaded, ready to go?
Almost. Almost packed. Car will be loaded after I fulfill my carpool duties after school today.
If you have any last minute questions, please send us an email.
Don't forget directions to the hotel and the phone number for just in case. 949-462-9500. Address is 2 Orchard, Lake Forest, CA.

See you all tomororw morning. :)

Drive safely.

3 more days to go

Hey ladies! 3 more days to go. Oh my! I have so much to do. It's been busy as ever here.

It's supposed to be a hot one this weekend. But remember it could be cool in the crop room so don't forget a sweatshirt. Oh, and check out cafe press for some crops2remember merchandise. Maybe a sweatshirt? Hat? Another shirt?

Thanks for all the comments from the newbies. Can't wait to meet you all!

If any of you need a little league base ball fix, I'll be headed to my sons game at 10:00 Saturday morning. Just a few minutes away. Go Dodgers!!!! I'm scorekeeper and don't like to miss his games.

Let us know if you have any questions about the weekend. Looking forward to seeing all of you on Friday!!

Monday, April 21, 2008

Only 4 days away!?!?!

Yipeeee! The light is at the end of the tunnel! We'll be cropping feverishly by the end of the week! Now I just need to find the time to pack ...

Also, I will be hosting a 4 x 4 acrylic mini book workshop on Friday that will be about a half-hour long. I think you'll find it fun and interesting! This is FREE to all croppers, so be sure to join in!

Hey! And don't forget stuff like table lamps, extension cords, your laptop (we have free Wifi), a camera and cell phone chargers!!!

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

I'm relaxed, how 'bout you?

Today I got a massage from Melissa in her home studio ... and I am feeling pretty calm and chilled out. A rarity for me! I am not much of a relaxer (seriously, I work on my computer while I watch a Netflix movie so I don't waste any time), but a massage is something that I HAVE to lay down and veg out for! And Melissa does a great job, working on problem areas I point out and making the most of my table time. You'll have your chance to relax and get your own table time during the crop! On the Friday and Saturday of the crop, Melissa will be available for massages privately in the organizers' suite. Fees are $1 per minute, 10-minute minimum, or an hour massage for $55. Got a problem area or have questions for Melissa? Email her at missylynn7@gmail.com.

Blog comments

hey gals. We have 3 comments for the Newbie drawing. It will be a close contest. You can still leave a comment on that post.

But, remember, anyone can leave a comment on the blog to get entered into yet another great drawing. The more you comment, the more tickets you get.

And, how many days, someone said 17! Wow! It's just about here. Are ya ready? Get packing!

There are craft and scrap stores close by and we will have some shopping excursions if you like, but don't forget your adhesive and favorite tools, all your fun scrap stuff and pictures too. Also, as mentioned before, we can't always keep the temperature in the crop room the way everyone likes it. So, be sure to pack a sweater or sweatshirt.

See you all in just a few weeks.
