Anyone else exhausted today?

Yes, I am tired, but I am so HAPPY! Thank you to all the C2R Inaugural Crop attendees - you guys were awesome and truly made the event a success! We loved having each of you and hope to see you at the next crop in August!

A big pat on the back to our Queen of the Crop, Julia, as well as our Layout Challenge winners: Michele, Elena, and, yes, the repeat offender, Julia! Congrats to you guys!

A big THANKS to our massage therapist, Melissa, who kept us all feeling stress-free and relaxed throughout the weekend. I had more than an hour with her, myself, and am feeling quite nice.

Stephanie from MAMBI, Fiskateer Cheryl and Beth from Heritage Makers: Thank you SO much for taking time out of your weekend to share a bit of your business with us. It was an absolute pleasure!

I'd like to send a "shout" out to our sponsor stores: Angels Scrapbook Garden, Red Bee, Scrapbook Corner and Timeless Treasures ... we had a great time playing with the raffle prizes and shopping in your aisles! And to FreckleFriends.com, who was kind enough not only to give us a great discount before the crop, but gave us stellar customer service by delivering our goodies we bought to the crop each day!

And true appreciation to our sponsors, too numerous to name here, but we will have them listed soon, for your generosity for all the wonderful items that made our crop that much more exciting for everyone!

Naomi and Nan - BIG hugs to you both! Our baby turned out to be wonderful ... I can't wait to watch it "grow" with you! (But, really, we need to get some more cropping done ... ha!) On to August!

Now, off to get some of that much-needed sleep!

WOW!!

What an awesome weekend! Thank you to all of you! I enjoyed getting to know all of you and scrap with you too. You all helped to make this such an awesome weekend! I hope to see you all again at future C2R weekends.
Thank you too for your comments on the surveys. We read them all last night and appreciate each and every comment.
I was so tired last night, but got the car unloaded and most things put away. Took a shower tucked the kids into bed and then crashed myself at 8:30. Didn't wake up till almost 6 this morning. Feel rested now:) But I don't have much of a voice left. Well, no one to talk to today but the dog and birds.
Well, better spin my chair around and get back to work, lots of emails to answer and mail to go through. Luckily not a lot of phone messages to return.
Looking forward to seeing you in August. Feel free to email us anytime and check back on the website and blog for future dates.
Have a wonderful week and keep on Scrapping!!

We are ready for you !!

Room is set up and ready to go.
Can't wait to see you all in the morning!!

Counting Hours

Ok, so I have been sitting at my desk most of the morning trying to work. I took the dog for a run to clear my head, packed my clothes for the weekend and went over all the paperwork. But I still can't concentrate on work. I chatted with my mom about dinner Friday night. Still can't concentrate. I have a conference call at 1:00 so have to focus on that. Then it will be time to get the kids from school, get through homework, pack up the car and hopefully get to bed at a somewhat decent hour. In about 20 hours from now, will be getting ready to crop with a huge vente Starbucks chai latte! Can't wait!!
See you all soon :)

Uh, what the heck am I typing on here for?!!?

I have SO much to do in the next two nights ... I can't believe I am even wasting precious moments writing here - LOL! But I stopped by to see how EXCITED everyone was! Anyway, I am trying to find the time to pack up the crop stuff, pack up my stuff (like my Ottlite and my laptop ... oh, yeah, some scrap stuff too, oh, and do I need clothes?), get some photos printed, design some layouts and get the supplies together ... I have to finish both my boys' annual albums! And cut up my ribbon for the ribbon swap ... OK, gotta go now before I stress myself out getting ready for the weekend of FUN! See you all FRIDAY!!!!!!!

Almost here.......Are you ready??

Just about. But will be.
How many layouts will you get done this weekend? I am shooting for the moon! I have gotten behind and need to caught up again.
Remember to bring a lot of adhesive, more than you think you may need. Bring all your photos and projects so you won't run out of things to do. If you have not been to a weekend crop before, it is amazing the things you can get done. Just wait till that adrenalin rush sets in about 10 pm! Starbucks is close by too if you need an extra push to get you till the wee hours of the morning.
I will send out an email with my cell phone number and the hotel number. Remember to bring it along with the hotel address and directions.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, just email us or post a comment on the blog.
For those of you driving distances, please drive safely.
See you in just a few days :)

Will you be our "Queen of the Crop?"

Hello, ladies!

How many of you worked on your "What 2 Means to You" layout this weekend? If you haven't gotten started yet, you still have plenty of time! You can even work on it at the crop Friday!

But, be advised: If you're thinking about NOT entering, you might want to think about it a little longer. The layout with the most votes earns its designer the designation of "Queen of the Crop," a soon-to-be Crops2Remember crop tradition. The title is up for grabs and so are the *fantastic* prizes! (Not to mention the good-natured bragging rights until the next crop in August!) You won't want to miss out on the FUN!

Sorry, day croppers, but only overnight weekend croppers may participate and vote. Weekend croppers should have received the contest guidelines in an email last week. If you didn't, email Jessica at jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com.

We can't wait to see what you all come up with! We'll be creating our own layouts about what 2 means to us, but just to display for fun.

So, what DOES 2 mean to you?

One week to go!!!

I can't believe it! Only one more week to go! Whoo -hoo. Are you all ready to go? Make sure you have plenty of pictures, paper, embellies and projects to work on. But if you run out of things to do, I have plenty you could work on:) Bring your ideas for the layout contest too: "What does 2 mean to you".

An email was sent out the other day with information and basic directions to the hotel. It is also posted on the blog.

If you have any questions at all, leave a comment here or send and email to me at naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com or crops2remember@yahoo.com . We check the blog and emails daily.

This weekend is a busy one for me as my dad is in town for a visit and to see some baseball games (if the rain stops). But next week I will be back on track getting everything else ready for the crop.

Remember, you can arrive as early as 9 am. The room will be set up and you can get started scrapping right away. Breakfast will also be out in the great room until 9:30. So stop by a little earlier for breakfast if you want.

See you all next Friday!!

Staybridge Suites

Here is some basic information on the hotel. We are staying at the Staybridge Suites Hotel. The address is 2 Orchard, Lake Forest, CA. The website is http://www.staybridge.com/ It will not take you directly to our hotel, but the hotel home page. From there you can enter the state and city (Lake Forest) and it will give you a list of hotels. Ours is the first on the list, Irvine East/Lake Forest.
Basic directions are: from the 5 or 405 South, and the 5 North, exit Bake Parkway and head North, towards the mountains. Continue on Bake for several miles. Turn left on Rancho Parkway South and the first left on Orchard. You can see the hotel on the left from Bake Parkway. There is a large nursery across the street. The hotel is in a business area. If you go under the toll road, you have gone to far.
From RSM, Mission Viejo take Portola to Bake and go left on Bake. Go under the toll road and turn right on Rancho Parkway South then left on Orchard.
If you are coming over the toll road from the Corona Riverside area, take the 241 towards Rancho Santa Margarita, exit at Alton, go left, then right on Portola, right on Bake, right on Rancho Parkway South and then left on Orchard.
But probably best to do a Map Quest or Yahoo map yourself. I will send this all out in an email too.
There is plenty of parking in the front of the hotel. When you enter the lobby go to the left and follow the hall till you get to the crop room. Won't be able to miss it!! We will be in our Crops2Remember shirts. There are a few luggage carts at the front entrance.
Can't wait for the weekend!!

Anyone else love ribbon? Let's swap!

Anyone who has cropped with me in the past year or so has seen my barrels of ribbon ... I guess enough is never enough! And I love to swap it! This is not a C2R planned activity, just something I enjoy doing at crops. Comment here if you would like to participate! It's a great way to add some new designs to your stash!

The basic guidelines are:

1) Please use decorative ribbon, something you would love to have. No Spool'O Ribbon or Offray. Try to bring something unique that no one else will have.

2) Cut the ribbon into 1-yard lengths. I recommend having at least 10 yards - you can always swap with someone twice!

3) The ribbon you bring can either be all the same or all different - or somewhere in between!

If we happen to have more than 10 people say they are interested, then you may want to bring more than 10 yards if you want a piece from everyone. It's entirely up to you! Email me if you have any questions or suggestions: jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com.

Countdown to Crop: 10 days!

Packing up? Here are some things to think about ...

WOW! Is the crop just 10 days away!?! We are SO looking forward to cropping with all of you – and surprising you with all sorts of fun, scrappy treats! Here are just a few things to think about as you pack up your scrap stuff this week:

- Bring an extra bag (maybe even a suitcase) to take all your goodies home in. (No, we are not kidding.)
- While we have a number of activities, guest instructor programs and surprises planned, all activities are optional. While we encourage it vehemently, you don’t even have to crop.
- Pack up those unwanted scrap items (maybe in that extra suitcase you’re bringing!) to put on the “swap” table. Take what you want, first come, first served. Anything left will be given to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for the memory projects the patients do.
- Attached to the last email we sent out are details about the Crops2Remember “What Does 2 Mean to You?” layout contest. The winner of this event will be crowned Queen of the Crop – and be treated like one as she’s showered with prizes! Details are also on our web site. Go to www.crops2remember and click on the Calendar page. On the left hand side is the Latest News - click on the link for April 17!
- We have four special guests throughout the weekend, some of them with items for sale. Plus, we have store sponsors who would love for you to drop by, so be sure to bring a little extra pocket money!
- Plan to dress comfortably and in layers. The room temperature will be kept around 72 degrees, but every one has a different tolerance for heat and cold.
- Think you’ll need extra light? Planning to bring your Cricut? You might want to bring a power strip or an extension cord.
- Have you left a comment (or five) on this blog? For every comment you make, your name will be entered in a special raffle for an item valued at $30. You can be entered and unlimited amount of times, so write away!
- Can’t stand the thought of being away from email too long? No worries! The hotel has complete access to wireless Internet – and it’s FREE!
- Some emails are getting lost in spam filters, so make sure you check the blog often in the next 10 days for updates and announcements!

And, as always, if you have any questions, feel free to email us! For registration and payment questions, contact Naomi (naomicrops2remember@yahoo.com). For activity and general questions, contact Jessica (jessicacrops2remember@yahoo.com).

See you on the 27th!!!!

April Weekend Update

This was sent out in an email and I also wanted to get it on the blog.

Just a few more weeks until the crop! I know I sure am excited! Here's some info to get you ready and excited for our fun weekend!
All meals are provided. Drinks will be served with the meals and some snacks in between. You may want to bring your own snacks and drinks if you think you will want more. There are plenty of stores near by.
Some local vendors will be stopping by for presentations and displays of their wares. We also have some very fun make and takes and product demos. Participation is optional. No purchase is necessary but you may want to plan ahead just in case there is something you can't resist.
We are having a massage therapist too. She charges $1 aminute. If you are interested and would like to sign up now, please send me back an email indicating how many minutes you are interested in and if there is a time preference. We will have a sign up sheet at the crop.
Make sure to bring all your pictures, papers, embellishments and supplies. We will have some tools on hand to use. The program for the weekend you receive at registration will provide maps and info for all the area stores. We encourage our croppers to visit the local scrap stores that are sponsoring our weekend (but we do not have formal excursions planned on the weekend).
Bring your comfy scrap clothes. Make sure to bring a sweatshirt as it can get chilly in the evening. For Friday night, bring your fun pj's too for a pajama party crop!
There will be a table set up for a scrap swap. Whatever is left will be donated to CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County). They use scrapbooking supplies in the children's center to help the kids make albums. It's a great cause!
We will also be having a few page contests. The one we are announcing prior to the crop is "What does 2 mean to you." If you would like to participate, start thinking of a layout about what "2" means to you. You can even complete one before you come. We will announce the winner on Sunday afternoon!
Be sure to check the blog, www.crops2remember.blogspot.com and the website, www.crops2remember.com for updated information. We will be sending out more emails as the date gets closer.
Once again, we thank you for being part of our first ever Crop 2 Remember. We are looking forward to sharing the weekend with you.

Since we are not hearing from some of you (spam filters are working overtime), please send a reply back to this email so we know you received it. We will phone those participants that we don't hear from!

Have a great week!

Jessica, Nan and Naomi

Dinner with Stephanie from MAMBI!!!!

Guess what, ladies? We'll have a special guest dining with us Friday night: Stephanie Rahmatulla, the founding owner of Me and My Big Ideas!

Sure, you love their Rhinestones, their Threads and their papers, but how much do you really know about MAMBI? Well, after the crop, you'll be the new MAMBI experts!

MAMBI is based here in Lake Forest and Stephanie is incredibly excited that there is a weekend crop right in her own backyard! She'll be helping us to kick off the event at 5 p.m. Friday night, telling us how MAMBI got started, how they grew and where they are looking to go in the future.

Stephanie will also fill us in on the latest and greatest products that her design team has created and introduced to the scrap world. She'll stay on for dinner and chat with the group, answer questions - and maybe even bring a few goodies straight from the warehouse! Want to learn more about MAMBI? Visit www.meandmybigideas.com and visit Steph's blog at www.mambi.typepad.com.

Naomi just saying "HI"

Hi everyone. Just wanted to add a quick post and say "Hello". Thanks for all your emails. I can't wait to see everyone at the crop!
Just a few reminders..... if you have not sent me your t shirt size, please do so. And, if you have not sent your final payments, please do so and send me an email confirming.
The weather has been just beautiful here the last week. Hopefully it will be like this the weekend of the crop. The hotel has a beautiful court yard, with pool and jacuzzi!
